There are daily flights to Buenos Aires, plus summer schedules to São Paulo and other Brazilian destinations. Aerolíneas Argentinas, in the Edificio Santos Dumont, flies to Buenos Aires frequently, as does LAPA.
Local buses link Maldonado with Punta del Este and the beach circuit. They run through the center of town, meaning you don't have to trek out to the terminal to get there - ask any local where the nearest parada is.
Terminal Punta del Este has services that are an extension of those to Maldonado. International carriers include TTL to Porto Alegre and Brazil. COT covers the Uruguayan coast from Montevideo to the Brazilian border. Copsa goes to Montevideo.
Aeropuerto Laguna del Sauce (tel: 042 559 777), west of Maldonaldo, can be reached by COT bus. Frequent buses from Rambla Artigas connect Punta del Este with Maldonado.
