St Martin's high season is mid-December to mid-April. The rainy season brings with it heat and humidity instead of trade winds, so summer can be stifling, not to mention peppered with a hurricane or two from June to November. However, prices drop dramatically, by half at some resorts. Shoulder season is a great compromise, either in November or early December or late April and May.
North-lying St Martin is hot and humid most of the time, but trade winds blowing from the northeast temper the humidity, especially from January to April. Temperatures average out at a perfect 79°F (26°C). It is driest between February and April, with most rain falling between August and November, along with the potential for the odd hurricane from June to November.
