Soak up the laid-back Caribbean vibe or dive for buried pirate treasure.
Bocas town is on Isla Colón, the largest and most developed island on the Bocas del Toro archipelago. It's a slow-paced community made up mostly of English-speaking people of West Indian ancestry and Spanish-speaking Latinos. It's the archipelago's base for food, accommodation, and activity tours.
The town's relaxed, friendly atmosphere seems to rub off on everyone. In fact, Bocas has a reputation for cancelling future travel plans - it's an easy place to get stuck, and an even easier place to call home. The aquatically inclined can take a water taxi to nearby islands and reefs.
