Getting There

From Aeropuerto Pichoy, located 32km (20mi) from Valdivia on Ruta 5, there are flights to Santiago, Concepción and Temuco.

Buses leave from Valdivia's Terminal de Buses to destinations on, or near, the Panamericana such as Puerto Montt (3.5hr) and Santiago (10hr). Long-haul buses heading north normally leave early morning and late evening. Regional buses go to Panguipulli, Futrono (1.5hr), Villarrica (3.5hr), Pucón (4hr) and Temuco (3hr). Tas Choapa and Andesmar go to Bariloche, Argentina (5hr).

Getting Around

From the main bus terminal (Anfión Muñoz 360), buses marked 'Plaza' will take you to Plaza de la República, the main square in the city center. There are also colectivos (urban bus) around town.

Transfer Aeropuerto Valdivia provides an on-demand minibus service to/from the airport. Autovald and Hertz rent vehicles.
