The best time to visit Dangriga is in the dry season (December to May). The wet season (June to November) is, at times, so wet here that you can't do anything - it has two to three times more rain than the rest of the country. That said, the dry season has its fair share of precipitation - just considerably fewer puddles. The wet season is also hurricane season. As this region has endured hurricane activity in recent years, be aware of emergency procedures.
The biggest tourist influx is during the couple of weeks each side of Christmas and Easter. Plan ahead if you're traveling around these times as popular hotels could be fully booked. Accommodation is priced according to high and low seasons. High-season is usually from December to May and low season covers the rest of the year. Some places have additional 'extra' seasons covering the Christmas, New Year and Easter periods, when prices are above high-season rates.
Christmas and New Year festivities are huge in Dangriga. Expect dancing, music and general festive behaviour if you're planning an end of year trip here.
Dangriga is hot and humid day and night. The coolest time of the year (December to March), brings average lows of 18°C (64°F) and average highs of 29°C (84°F). The warmer period (May to September) isn't dramatically different with temperatures only marginally higher. Rain falls most of the year with the heaviest downpours occuring from June through to November, which is also the hurricane season.
